Hutchins Hall is part of the Law Quadrangle
on the University’s central campus. Because Hutchins Hall was built
at the onset of the Depression when finances were strained, it
was constructed without the same architectural detail as the rest
of the English Gothic Quadrangle. This aesthetic inconsistency,
coupled with the need to upgrade building systems and provide for
future air-conditioning, led to a long-term University initiative
to upgrade Hutchins Hall, classroom by
classroom. QUINN EVANS | ARCHITECTS has completed several
of the classroom renovations, including Room 120, Room 132, and
the Moot Courtroom. New lighting fixtures and wood finishes have
corrected
earlier problems with lighting, acoustics, and sight lines and
now enhance the overall warmth and richness of the classroom
building. |
