Concert Hall,
John F. Kennedy Center
for the Performing Arts
Washington,
DC
Approaching its 25th anniversary,
the Kennedy Center committed to enhance the experience for Concert
Hall patrons.
Initiating an ambitious renovation, the Kennedy Center’s
goals were to improve the hall aethestically and acoustically,
provide
access for persons with disabilities, and update the theater and
climate
control systems. QUINN EVANS | ARCHITECTS led the renovation
effort. As echoed in newspaper headlines following the Concert
Hall’s re-opening performance in October 1997, the results of
the new design were immediate and exceptional: “Concert
Hall Sets New Tone: Renovations Bring Out National Symphony’s
Best,” The Washington Post; “The NSO Shines in Its
Hall of Plenty,” “At the Kennedy Center a More Joyful
Noise,” “A
Chorus of Hallelujahs Reports From All Sides,” The Washington
Post; “In
a Transformed Concert Hall, Hearing Is Believing,” The
New York Times. |
