Hill Auditorium
University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, Michigan
A masterpiece of Classic Revival architecture, Hill Auditorium
was designed by Albert Kahn and built in 1913, expressive of the
then-emerging Arts and Crafts movement in America. QUINN EVANS
| ARCHITECTS served as the design and preservation architect for
the $38.6 million project that transformed this historic gem at
the heart of University of Michigan’s main campus into a
state-of-the-art performance venue.
Through careful planning and
architectural-engineering collaboration, the authenticity of the
original architecture was preserved while
modernizing the building, making it fully accessible and comfortable
for audiences and performers alike. This premier performance facility
now fulfills contemporary expectations, while resonating with the
unique acoustic quality that for decades has been the auditorium’s
hallmark.
This project was developed in association with Albert
Kahn Associates, Architect of Record. |
