Corner Village Plan
Culpeper
County, Virginia QUINN EVANS | ARCHITECTS developed the master
plan for this 125-acre development near the Rappahanock River.
The compact, mixed-use approach of this neo-traditional village
is intended to create a strong sense of community, encourage walking,
and promote sustainability. A variety of housing types are designed
to appeal to a range of incomes and ages, including elderly residents
with provision for both independent- and assisted-living facilities. Clustering of the residential districts
results in an average density of about three dwelling units per
acre, with up to eight
units per acre within developed areas. Also featured within the
Village Plan are a library, pool and tennis courts, daycare center,
as well as a market and commercial district with a post office,
county offices, police substation, bank, and other businesses
aggregated near a regional hospital’s medical center. |
