Australian Head of Mission Residence
Washington, DC
Located in an exclusive neighborhood just behind “Embassy
Row” in Northwest Washington, the Heritage House serves as
the residence for the Australian Ambassador to the United States.
Originally constructed circa 1920, the mansion presents an excellent
example of the Colonial Revival style.
A facility master plan developed
by QUINN EVANS | ARCHITECTS outlines the facility improvements
necessitated to meet modern standards. Recommendations describe
comprehensive long-term architectural and building systems upgrades
and projects to be undertaken in phases by the Embassy.
The resulting
building project renovated many of the major rooms in the house
providing improved amenities, replacing fixtures, and upgrading
all interior finishes. The completed rooms are richly-adorned and
feature an elegant materials palette of finely detailed wood, patterned
ceramic, and marble accented by decorative paint treatments, wallcoverings,
textiles, and reupholstered furnishings. |
